The La Plata Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Green City on the road and fell 70-39. La Plata has not had much luck with the Gophers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Leading Green City to victory were Xander Salas and Asher Buggs-Tipton. Salas scored 17 points along with six assists and three steals, while Buggs-Tipton scored 22 points. Buggs-Tipton is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 16 games he's played. Ivan Littrell was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
La Plata has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Green City, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-2.
La Plata will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Green City, they will head out on the road to square off against the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Linn County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 557th, while the Gophers are ranked 85th).
