Medgar Evers College Prep were the 53-51 winner over the Frank J. Macchiarola Sharks when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Medgar Evers College Prep took a 74-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sharks on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Medgar Evers College Prep players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joshua Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dejon Williams, who scored 13 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Medgar Evers College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Frank J. Macchiarola, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.
Medgar Evers College Prep will be playing at home against the Cardinals at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. Prospect Heights will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 597th, while the are ranked 239th). As for Frank J. Macchiarola, they will head out on the road to take on the at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
