The Heroes are on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let the Storm get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The Heroes haven't had any issues with the Storm recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Tatum Meeker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Elsie Earll was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Avery Jones, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, the Heroes put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 17-2 victory.
Maya Zappa was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenia Martin, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
The Heroes were getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .519. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
The Heroes' win bumped their record up to 15-0. As for the Heroes, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Heritage Academy have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Heritage Academy struggle in that department as they've been averaging only 1.7 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Heritage Academy might still be hurting after the 13-2 loss they got from Heritage Academy in their previous matchup back in April. Can Heritage Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
