Cactus is 2-8 against Deer Valley since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Both teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Cactus comes in on nine and Deer Valley on five.
Cactus can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Estrella Foothills 82-32 at home. That 50 points margin sets a new team best for Cactus this season.
Bradey Henige continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 33 points and 22 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Cactus' points. Another player making a difference was Tyler Hutton, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Deer Valley scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Agua Fria 101-52 at home. Deer Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Cactus' victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.2 points per game. As for Deer Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 15-2.
Cactus didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Deer Valley in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 67-62 victory.
