The Highline Pirates's five-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Thursday. They blew past Tyee, posting a 67-18 victory on the road. Highline's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Highline was led to victory by Marquawn Mccraney and Corey Crosby. Mccraney scored eight points along with seven rebounds and seven steals, while Crosby scored 22 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Mccraney set a new season high mark in assists with six. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Simpson, who scored six points along with three steals.
Highline's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4. As for Tyee, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highline will square off against Renton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tyee, they will head out on the road to face off against Cleveland at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
