Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Christian Warriors vs. Lake Country Christian Eagles

The Liberty Christian Warriors will take on the Lake Country Christian Eagles in a holiday battle at at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Liberty Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Lake Country Christian likes a good challenge.

Liberty Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They really took it to Turner for the full four quarters, racking up an 84-54 win. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 23 points or more this season.

Easton Hupp was his usual excellent self, going 6 for 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 33 points. His afternoon made it 15 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Max Hinds was another key player, going 9 for 17 on his way to 22 points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, after only 26 points in their last contest, Lake Country Christian made sure to put some points up on the board against Temple Christian on Saturday. Lake Country Christian enjoyed a cozy 55-37 victory over Temple Christian.

Liberty Christian pushed their record up to 12-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.7 points per game. As for Lake Country Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Liberty Christian couldn't quite finish off Lake Country Christian in their previous meeting back in December of 2020 and fell 60-57. Thankfully for Liberty Christian, Kevin Dodard (who went 10 of 15 on his way to 25 points in addition to six steals and five assists) won't be suiting up this time.
