The Mooresville Blue Devils will welcome the Butler Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mooresville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 28.7 points per game this season.
Mooresville proved they can win big back in October (they won by 32) and two weeks ago they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 23-21 win over Lake Norman. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Brody Norman was his usual excellent self, rushing for 76 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 170 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024.
Mooresville didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Lake Norman to a completion percentage of just 39.1%. The team can thank Gavin Pegram for the heroic effort on defense: he. Mooresville hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.48 or higher in four consecutive games.
Mooresville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jordan Cleaves and Pegram. Kamdon Gillespie was another major factor on D, picking up two sacks and making 11 total tackles.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Butler walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 42-28 win over the Titans on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Bulldogs considering their seven-point performance the contest before.
Mooresville better keep an eye on DeMaurion Thomas-Wright. He was instrumental in Butler's win, rushing for 90 yards and a pair of scores. Thomas-Wright also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because the Bulldogs are undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-6 otherwise. Donovan Pollard also helped out with an impressive 84 receiving yards.
Mooresville's record is now 8-2. As for Butler, their record now sits at 5-6.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Mooresville has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 166.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Butler struggles in that department as they've been averaging 153.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Mooresville suffered a grim 41-21 defeat to Butler in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
