The South Holt Knights will head out on the road to square off against the Worth County Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 22 consecutive losses dating back to last season for South Holt and three for Worth County.
While South Holt couldn't quite beat Osborn last Tuesday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 37-point defeat they were dealt last Monday. South Holt fell just short of Osborn by a score of 23-21.
Meanwhile, Worth County came up short against Mound City/Craig on Monday and fell 50-43. Worth County has struggled against Mound City/Craig recently, as their game on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Rylee Ruckman, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Kristen Tracy, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
South Holt's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-21. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.0 points per game. As for Worth County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-18.
