Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Redeemer Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laramie Butler, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Butler has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Selena Martin, who scored four points along with six assists and six rebounds.
First Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carolina Boque, who scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Addison Schwartz was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Redeemer Christian's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for First Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Redeemer Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Real Life Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 12th. Real Life Christian Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for First Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against St. John Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. John Lutheran will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
