Even though the Eagle Ridge Academy Warriors scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, the Prospect Ridge Academy Miners still came out on top. Prospect Ridge Academy took their game against the Warriors 70-58. The win made it back-to-back wins for Prospect Ridge Academy.
Prospect Ridge Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jackson Brandt led the charge by scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Liam Schilling, who scored 19 points.
Despite the defeat, Eagle Ridge Academy saw an underclassman step up: Aiden Wanrow scored 18 points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Wanrow hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 12 straight games. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Garcia, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Eagle Ridge Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Prospect Ridge Academy only pulled down eight offensive rebounds.
Prospect Ridge Academy's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Eagle Ridge Academy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prospect Ridge Academy will square off against the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Colorado (Stargate School is ranked 126th, while the Miners are ranked 114th). As for Eagle Ridge Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Colorado Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 415 points over their last six matches.
