Softball Recap: Grangeville Has No Trouble Against Priest River

While Grangeville put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Priest River. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 24-0 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by ten runs or more this season.

Adalei Lefebvre made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Grangeville got a massive performance out of Addisyn Vanderwall, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Makenna York was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI.

Grangeville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Grangeville pushed their record up to 8-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 21.7 runs over those games. As for Priest River, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-10-1.

Grangeville will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Spartans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
