West Union has been on the road for four straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Fayetteville-Perry Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. West Union will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 649th, while Fayetteville-Perry is ranked 250th).
West Union suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2023 on Thursday. They were the victim of a tough 52-29 loss at the hands of Williamsburg.
Meanwhile, Fayetteville-Perry waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top against Wheelersburg by a score of 49-37.
Fayetteville-Perry got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cara Rummel out in front who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Ryley Kleemeyer, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals.
West Union's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-10. As for Fayetteville-Perry, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
West Union took a serious blow against Fayetteville-Perry in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 59-25. Thankfully for West Union, Anne Murphy (who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and six steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
