The Thornton Trojans lost against the Adams City Eagles back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Thornton took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Adams City.
Adams City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Arianna Hernandez led the charge by scoring 24 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hernandez has scored all season. Morgan Williams was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds.
Thornton's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Adams City, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
Thornton will head out on the road to take on Gateway at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Gateway comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last six games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Adams City, they will be playing at home against Aurora Central at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
