Northridge is 0-5 against Hueytown since October of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Last Friday, Northridge and Central were almost perfectly matched up, but Northridge suffered an agonizing 13-12 loss.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Northridge, adding 12 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of Tucker Cornelius: he added 12 points with four field goals.
Meanwhile, Hueytown didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against McAdory on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 20-15 win.
Hueytown's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jebron Ellington, who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown. Jakhael Rowser was another key contributor, rushing for 86 yards and a touchdown.
Hueytown's win bumped their season record to 4-3 while Northridge's loss dropped theirs to 1-6.
Things could have been worse for Northridge, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 41-23 loss to Hueytown when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Northridge avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
