It was a good run, but the Weber Warriors unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Syracuse, falling 71-33. While losing is never fun, Weber can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Syracuse is ranked eighth).
Weber's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rylee Jugler, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals. Jugler has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Arbon, who scored seven points.
Weber bumped their record down to 6-9 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road. As for Syracuse, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.
Weber will look to defend their home court on Friday against Fremont at 5:15 p.m. As for Syracuse, they will head out on the road to take on Davis at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Davis is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
