Meanwhile, Millard West earned a 7-4 win over Omaha Central on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.
Dominic Audino looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jackson Thiel, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. That hit marked the first that he got this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Daniel, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Skutt Catholic's win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Millard West, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
