The Family Christian Center Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 80-49 loss at the hands of Circle Christian.
Circle Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lucas Valdes led the charge by scoring 25 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. The matchup was Valdes' seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Bell, who scored 20 points along with three steals.
Family Christian Center's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2. As for Circle Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-4.
Family Christian Center will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hope Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 18, 2024. Circle Christian won't have much time to rest: their next game is against McKeel Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. One thing working in McKeel Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
