The American Fork Cavemen are taking a road trip to take on the Lone Peak Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Lone Peak took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on American Fork, who comes in off a win.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when American Fork and Corner Canyon meet (five straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Thursday. The Cavemen put the hurt on the Chargers with a sharp 17-1 victory. Considering the Cavemen have won seven games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Mazie Walters made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.
In other batting news, American Fork got a massive performance out of Sydney Adamson, who went 3-for-5 with two triples, four RBI, and two runs. Those two triples gave Adamson a new career-high. Lacie Fleming was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
American Fork kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 23 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Lone Peak suffered their closest loss since April 15, 2025 on Thursday. They fell just short of Skyridge by a score of 7-5.
Maggie Nelson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4.
With the win, American Fork broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-15. As for Lone Peak, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. American Fork hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Lone Peak struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
American Fork couldn't quite get it done against Lone Peak in their previous meeting two weeks ago as they fell 17-12. Can the Cavemen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
