You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Danbury's strategy against New Riegel on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Danbury Lakers blew the New Riegel Blue Jackets out of the water with a 57-13 final score. The Lakers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Danbury got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mia McDonald out in front who went 9 for 10 en route to 20 points. That's the most points McDonald has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Maci Brown, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and six steals.

Danbury smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Danbury pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points over those games. As for New Riegel, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-19.

Danbury didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 36-31 win against Woodmore on the 6th. As for New Riegel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 69-19 loss against Calvert on the 6th.
