Christian Duran's Big Game Leads Stamford over Anson
Christian Duran's big game helped extend Stamford's winning streak to seven on Friday. Nobody could stop Duran as he rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, and also threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes.
Unfortunately for Anson, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Duran. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Duran saw the Tigers), he rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 202 yards on only 16 passes.

Stamford picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Kaston Vega. Vega turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 114 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 102 rushing yards.
For the year, Vega has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 114.1 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had four rushing touchdowns.

Keagan Ables was instrumental in extending Hawley's winning streak to seven on Friday. Ables turned in nothing short of a gem, throwing for 223 yards and four touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes, and also rushing for 64 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Ables must have Olney's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Ables saw the Cubs), he threw for 233 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt.

Hawley picked up their seventh consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Hunter Hudson. Hudson wasn't messing around, picking up two sacks and making eight total tackles (4.0 for loss). The matchup was his fifth straight with six or more total tackles.
This year, Hudson has averaged 6.9 total tackles per game and for the season has 3 sacks.
