Essex entered their tilt with Colonial Beach on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Drifters get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won eight matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Essex let Keion Hence and James (Jay) Jeter run wild. Hence went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Jeter went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Jeter has become a key player for Essex: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Aden Mcgrit was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Essex always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Essex's record is now 9-6. As for Colonial Beach, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.
