Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Spring Grove). Everything went their way against the William Penn Bearcats on Wednesday as they made off with a 23-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Rockets in their matchups with the Bearcats: they've now won six in a row.
Logan McMaster made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Konner Marshall was incredible, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Ashton Parks was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Spring Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matches.
Spring Grove now has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for William Penn, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9.
