1. Callaway (Jackson)
2013-14 record: 32-1, Class 5A state champions
Head coach: David Sanders

Star senior guard Malik Newman could go down as Mississippi's greatest all-time high school basketball player. The 6-foot-3 scoring machine has led the Chargers to back-to-back-to-back state championships and a three-year record of 83-14. Newman has also helped USA Basketball to a pair of state titles the last two summers. Five others who played significant minutes a year ago for Callaway also return.

2. Velma Jackson (Camden)
2013-14 record: 34-2, Class 3A state champions
Head coach: Anthony Carlyle

The Falcons had just one senior on the roster in 2013-14. Mississippi State commit Quinndary Weatherspoon (6-5, Sr., G), Kendarius Thomas (5-9, Sr., G) and Moses Greenwood (6-5, Sr., F) all averaged double figures for the 3A champs a year ago.

3. McComb
2013-14 record: 33-1, Class 4A state champions
Head coach: Hilton Harrell

The Tigers might take a slight step back from last year's one-loss 4A title team. But key contributors Antonio Cowart (6-2, Jr., G) and Emanuel Thompson (6-4, Sr., G/F) return and should keep McComb in the title hunt.

4. Provine (Jackson)
2013-14 record: 22-7, Class 6A state semifinalist
Head coach: Otis Gaines

The Rams were dealt a blow when all-state guard D'Angelo West transferred to Kentucky for his senior year. But nine players from last year's roster are back, headlined by senior forward Jerekius Davis (6-6).

5. Southaven
2013-14 record: 13-9
Head coach: Todd Arnold

Mississippi commit Terence Davis (6-4, Sr., G/F) averaged 22 points and nine rebounds per game as a junior. He's also a star wide receiver on the Charger football team.
