Basketball Recap: Water Canyon Drops Season-High Score on Dugway

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Water Canyon). They blew past the Dugway Mustangs 60-35 on Friday. The Wildcats not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since December 4, 2024 (when they won 63-27).

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quaid Elton, who posted 15 points. Gary Williams Jr was another key player, putting up 11 points.

The victory made it two in a row for Water Canyon and bumps their season record up to 3-4. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-4 Beaver Dam and 0-7 Dugway. As for Dugway, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Coming up, Water Canyon will be home for the holidays to greet Fredonia at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats will be up against the Lynx's rather soft defense (which has allowed 54.6 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Dugway, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-24 defeat against Beaver Dam on the 12th.
