The Snow Canyon Warriors were the 66-60 winner over the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Snow Canyon took a 60-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Maple Mountain on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Snow Canyon has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Snow Canyon still got an impressive performance from Drey Smith, who scored 18 points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Damon Ence, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Maple Mountain's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brogan Miles, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Peterson, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Snow Canyon and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Maple Mountain, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Snow Canyon won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Riverton at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th. Riverton is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. One thing working in Logan's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
