The Thunder Ridge Longhorns will head out on the road to challenge the Sylvan-Lucas Mustangs on Friday.
Thunder Ridge's 16-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were outmatched by St. John's/Tipton Catholic at home and fell 71-34. That's two games in a row now that Thunder Ridge has lost by exactly 37 points.
Meanwhile, Sylvan-Lucas waltzed into their game on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They walked away with a 45-36 win over Rock Hills.
Thunder Ridge has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Sylvan-Lucas, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5.
Thunder Ridge skirted past the Mustangs 55-52 when the teams last played back in February of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Thunder Ridge since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
