Idea snuck past the Bulldogs with a 59-55 victory on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Malachi Hoston was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Shamar Shorts was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, KIPP DC Legacy College Prep still got an impressive performance from Marlon Calhoun, who scored 31 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Demetrius Gladen, who scored nine points.
Idea pushed their record up to 18-6 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for KIPP DC Legacy College Prep, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Idea will take on the at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for KIPP DC Legacy College Prep, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Pythons at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in District of Columbia (Digital Pioneers Academy is ranked 28th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 21st).
