Meanwhile, Pope John Paul II put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Pottsgrove as they made off with a 15-0 win.
Mike Destefano looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Carson Glose was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Hunter Mischock, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
Pope John Paul II was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .375 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Having lost for the first time this season, Upper Perkiomen fell to 5-1. As for Pope John Paul II, their record is now 3-0.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Upper Perkiomen has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Pope John Paul II struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Upper Perkiomen skirted past Pope John Paul II 3-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
