The 2019 Illinois high school football season is in the books and the final MaxPreps Computer Rankings have been produced.
Undefeated state champions own the top three spots in the Final Top 50.
Class 8A state champion Lincoln-Way East (14-0) earned the top spot with a dominating defense that only allowed 87 points all season. The Griffins shutout two of their five postseason opponents and held 10 of 14 foes to single digits on the scoreboard.
East St. Louis (14-0) captured the Class 6A title and the No. 2 spot in the rankings. Led by 4,000-yard passer Tyler Macon, the Flyers averaged 51 points per game.
Mt. Carmel (14-0) earned the No. 3 ranking after winning the 7A title. The Caravan dominated previously unbeaten Nazareth Academy in the championship game.
The MaxPreps Computer Rankings take into account quality wins (against other highly ranked opponents) and strength of schedule. Playoff wins are weighted heavier than regular season games.
