The Chesterfield Golden Rams will take on the Buford Yellow Jackets at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Chesterfield barely beat North Central the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Chesterfield never let North Central get on the board and left with a 13-0 win on Friday. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Golden Rams this season.

Bryce Adams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sky Courtney, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Holden Lowery, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Chesterfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Central only posted an OBP of .304.
Meanwhile, Buford waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Patriots 13-7. The Yellow Jackets' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Noah Crump looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Gavin Lowery was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Jake Milhorn was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
The victory made it two in a row for Chesterfield and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Buford, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Chesterfield has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Buford struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Chesterfield suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Buford in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Chesterfield avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
