It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but North Union had no problem doing just that on Monday. Everything went their way against the Northmor Golden Knights as they made off with a 13-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Leah Cox made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. Cox was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, North Union got a massive performance out of Kennedy Harrah, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave Harrah a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kale Keigley, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases.
North Union always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northmor only posted an OBP of .375.
The victory got North Union back to even at 12-12. As for Northmor, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.
Coming up, North Union will take on Fairbanks in a tournament on Friday. Northmor does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
