With a playoff game on the line, Cerritos rose to the challenge on Saturday. They snuck past the Trojans with a 19-13 victory.
Cerritos relied on the efforts of Dikshanta Adhikari, who picked up 67 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Justin Sagun, who threw for 125 yards and three touchdowns.
Bishop Union typically have all the answers at home, but on Friday Wasco proved too difficult a challenge. Wasco won a match that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Bishop Union 42-41. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Noah Lopez and Austin Powell. Lopez had a great game and rushed for 189 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Powell was balling out in the loss, rushing for 151 yards and three touchdowns.
Cerritos has yet to lose a game at home this season, leaving them with a 9-5 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.0 points per game. As for Wasco, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-5 record this season.
