If Gautier was riding high fresh off their 39-0 takedown of Moss Point last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Even if they lost, Gautier's defense still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Leading the way was Demarrion Gainer-Wonsley with two. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven.
Gage Stinson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Greene County, throwing for 144 yards and one touchdown on only 13 passes, while also rushing for 35 yards. Those 35 rushing yards gave Stinson a new career-high.
Gautier now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Greene County, their record is now 4-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gautier will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while.
