On Monday, the Academy of the Sacred Heart Gazelles were out to avenge their 41-22 defeat to the University Liggett Knights from their previous meeting last month, but they had no such luck. Academy of the Sacred Heart fell just short of University Liggett by a score of 47-44.
The loss dropped the Gazelles' record to 4-8. The win improved the Knights' record to 10-3.
The Gazelles will take on Thurston in two weeks. Academy of the Sacred Heart isn't the favorite to win, but, of course, any team can defy the odds on the right day. University Liggett is staying on the road next week to face off against Richard. Richard is also hoping to continue their momentum after a 52-25 victory over Canton Preparatory on Monday.
