It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Centennial Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against Somerset Academy Losee by a score of 35-28. The win was familiar territory for Centennial who now have eight in a row.
Centennial was led to victory by Dale Flores jr and Vic Plotnikov. Flores jr picked up 162 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Plotnikov threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.0 yards per attempt. Flores jr's longest reception was for an incredible 81 yards. Jhbari Christmas got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Somerset Academy Losee's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Kieran Daniel, who rushed for 143 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 75 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Johnson, who rushed for 200 yards.
Centennial's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. As for Somerset Academy Losee, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.
Centennial will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sunrise Mountain at 3:40 p.m. on November 21st. Sunrise Mountain is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games. Somerset Academy Losee does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
