Purdue Poly Englewood will head out to take on the Tri Titans at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Purdue Poly Englewood is headed out to face Tri after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Purdue Poly Englewood blew past Providence Cristo Rey 24-2 back in April.

Kin Chow and Nevan Jeffers made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Chow pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. Meanwhile, Jeffers pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At the plate, Chow got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Jeffers got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. Chow has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Purdue Poly Englewood got a massive performance out of Diego Briceno Vega, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Alvaro Sanchez was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Purdue Poly Englewood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .706. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Providence Cristo Rey only posted an OBP of .471.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Thursday as neither Tri nor Anderson Prep Academy made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Titans came out on top against the Jets by a score of 13-9. The Titans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Karter Lunsford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Tri let James Burke and Braxton Miller run wild. Burke went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple, while Miller got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three hits gave Burke a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Patrick Baker, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
