If the NorthWood Panthers were riding high off their 52-28 takedown of the Triton Trojans last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. NorthWood took a serious blow against Warsaw on Tuesday, falling 66-29. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for NorthWood in their matchups with Warsaw: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, NorthWood had strong showings from Claire Payne, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds, and Joselyn Edwards, who scored 9 points. Another player making a difference was Kinzee Hartman, who scored 5 points.
It was another big night for Joslyn Bricker, who scored 26 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds for Warsaw. The contest was Bricker's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Zartman, who scored 13 points along with 3 steals.
NorthWood's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Warsaw, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-2.
NorthWood will look to defend their home court on Friday against Concord at 7:45 p.m. Concord will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 312th, while NorthWood is ranked 103rd). As for Warsaw, they will head out on the road to face off against Ben Davis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Ben Davis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
