The Blair Vikings waltzed into their game on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They came out on top in a nail-biter against San Marino and snuck past 84-81. The victory was all the more spectacular given Blair's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 361st, while San Marino is ranked 142nd).
Blair found their leader in underclassman Timmy Anderson, who scored 40 points along with five assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which Anderson has scored at least a third of Blair's points. Serigne Deme was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Blair is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for San Marino, their loss dropped their record down to 20-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blair will challenge La Canada at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. La Canada has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 743 points over their last 11 matches. As for San Marino, they will head out on the road to face off against Temple City at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Temple City is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
