Jackson Center is 0-10 against Fort Loramie since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Jackson Center Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Fort Loramie Redskins at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Jackson Center has not done well against Botkins recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Jackson Center took down Botkins 41-25. Given Jackson Center's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Botkins is ranked 362nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Fort Loramie had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.8 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Arcanum 69-17 on the road. The result was nothing new for Fort Loramie, who have now won three matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.
Jackson Center pushed their record up to 4-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Fort Loramie, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Jackson Center ended up a good deal behind Fort Loramie in their previous matchup back in February, losing 47-33. Can Jackson Center avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
