If the Holy Name Green Wave were feeling good off their 60-38 takedown of the Hawken Hawks last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Holy Name wound up with the same score they had in their last game (60-38), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 524th, while Westlake is ranked 261st).
Despite the defeat, Holy Name saw an underclassman step up: Claire Coljohn dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. Coljohn is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noemi Cartagena, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Holy Name's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Westlake, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Holy Name didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 78-36 victory vs. Valley Forge on the 10th. Westlake has also already played their next match, a 52-48 victory against Elyria Catholic on the 9th.
