After flying high against the Clear Creek Golddiggers on Monday, the Front Range Baptist Falcons came back down to earth. Front Range Baptist was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 24-23 to Campion Academy. Front Range Baptist was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Campion Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2020.
When it comes to explaining why Front Range Baptist lost, one person who can't be blamed is Libby Ciccone. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Ciccone scored a full 56.5% of Front Range Baptist's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Front Range Baptist's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Campion Academy, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Front Range Baptist will take on Arickaree at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Campion Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Union Colony Prep at 6:00 p.m. on January 15, 2024.
