Metro - Mesa recap October 29, 2013
Eastlake added to the longest winning streak in Metro - Mesa this week by beating Bonita Vista, 27-0. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
Otay Ranch scaled the state rankings by moving to 383 from 428 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Mustangs climbed the ranks as a result of topping Escondido 20-12.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Robert Garza. The Bonita Vista star has 14 catches for 322 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Eastlake takes on second place Olympian. Last week, Eastlake defeated the Barons, while Olympian beat Chula Vista.
One of Metro - Mesa's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when the Eagles and John McFadden's team face off next week. Ronnie Sallee has dominated opposing QBs with a total of 6.0 sacks, while GARY CANNON has 651 passing yards and 5 touchdowns on the season.
There should be lots of points scored when the Titans and Olympian face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Eastlake comes in having scored 245 this season, while Paul Van Nostrand's team has scored 200. The Titans scored 27 points last week as they defeated Bonita Vista.
Eastlake took down Chris Thompson's team 27-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
