The Unity Christian Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 30-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of Galesburg Christian. If Unity Christian was looking for revenge after losing 53-31 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maddy Wilbur, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylie Hays, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and five steals.
Even though they lost, Unity Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Kaela Hall continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Galesburg Christian, scoring 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hall has scored at least a third of Galesburg Christian's points.
Unity Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Galesburg Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
Unity Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Huskies at 10:00 a.m. on February 3rd. Tri-State Christian is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Galesburg Christian, they will face off against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Quad Cities Christian's defense has only allowed 29.1 points per game this season, so the Lions' offense will have their work cut out for them.
