Basketball Recap: Orangeburg Prep Extends Winning Streak to Four

Orangeburg Prep entered their tilt with Greenwood Christian on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 65-58 victory over the Greenwood Christian Hawks. That's more bragging rights for the Indians, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Orangeburg Prep to victory were Avery Ravenell and Tilden Riley. Ravenell posted 23 points and five assists, while Riley dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. The match was Riley's third in a row with at least ten points. Walt Mims was another key player, putting up ten points.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ty Kennedy, who shot 4-for-6 from long range and dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Scott-Palacios, who had 23 points.

Orangeburg Prep's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Greenwood Christian, their record now sits at 11-6.

Orangeburg Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 68-61 victory against St. John's Christian Academy on the 13th. As for Greenwood Christian, they will welcome Laurens Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenwood Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season.
