This season hasn't been kind to the Wellington Eagles, who are still winless after their fifth game. They were dealt a 62-33 defeat at the hands of Valley on Friday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Wellington in their matchups with Valley: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Wellington saw an underclassman step up: Luke Moore scored 14 points. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Enrique Odreman, who scored five points.
Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aidan Brownell , who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brownell has scored at least 25% of Valley's points. Caleb Dudley was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Wellington's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Valley, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Wellington's road trip will continue as they head out to face Bruce Randolph on December 9th. Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Skyview at 5:00 p.m. on December 9th. Hopefully Skyview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Friday.
