Make it 16 blowout wins for the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs this season. They claimed a resounding 68-40 win over Willow Canyon at home. Winning may never get old, but Sunrise Mountain sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Leading Sunrise Mountain to victory were Addison Wiemann and Savanna Dotray. Wiemann scored 24 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Dotray almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Maza, who scored ten points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Willow Canyon lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Keke Helman. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points. Kandace O Connell was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
Sunrise Mountain's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4. As for Willow Canyon, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-7 record this season.
