Basketball Recap: Arabia Mountain Skates Past Decatur with Ease

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Arabia Mountain's strategy against Decatur on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Arabia Mountain Rams blew the Decatur Bulldogs out of the water with a 64-21 final score. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 23 points or more this season.

Sha'Nya Heath continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 5-for-9 from long range and dropping a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelina Billingsley, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.

Arabia Mountain smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Decatur saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nadiya Mohamed posted 13 points and four steals.

Arabia Mountain has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42 points. As for Decatur, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-8.

Arabia Mountain didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 66-48 victory against Rockdale County on the 20th. As for Decatur, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-17 defeat against Oxford on the 21st.
