Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Santa Margarita walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 34-14 margin over the Canyon Comanches on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won ten matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Madi Lam, who threw for 228 yards and four TDs while completing 75.8% of her passes, and also rushed for 43 yards and one touchdown. Avery Finneran was in the mix too, providing Santa Margarita with two scores.

Santa Margarita's victory bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Canyon, the defeat snapped their winning streak at 13 games and leaves them with a 20-2 record.

Coming up, Santa Margarita will face off against JSerra Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions' defense has only allowed 6.1 points per game this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them. Canyon does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
