The El Monte Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 43-27 fall against Rosemead. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for El Monte in their matchups with Rosemead: they've now lost four in a row.
Rosemead's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rhys Anderson, who scored 25 points. Anderson hasn't dropped below 15points for 14 straight games. Preston Huynh was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
El Monte has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 15 of their last 16 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-24 record this season. As for Rosemead, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. El Monte will take on Mountain View at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mountain View is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak. As for Rosemead, they will be playing at home against South El Monte at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully South El Monte focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday.
