The Nebraska Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. 2024 welcomed they with a 54-31 loss courtesy of Fullerton. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Nebraska Christian has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Nebraska Christian still got an impressive performance from Micah Perdew, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds. Perdew scored a full 67.7% of Nebraska Christian's points, the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Nebraska Christian struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Kane Wetovick continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fullerton, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Wetovick's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Gochenour, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Nebraska Christian bumped their record down to 2-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Fullerton, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Nebraska Christian will look to defend their home court on Friday against Central Valley at 7:30 p.m. Central Valley is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Fullerton, they will head out on the road to face off against Heartland on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Heartland is ranked 179th, while Fullerton is ranked 187th).
